Thanks for the words of wisdom. I am new to Korea, and am still learning what works and what doesn't.. I have read many of your posts, and you just seemed to be a real natural at teaching. Good luck to you in all that you do
I wouldn't say I'm a natural at teaching. I think I'm good at a type of teaching. I'm confident in the classical style (teacher -> students), but not so good in the contemporary ones:
teachers <-> students
students -> teacher
teacher -> ( students <-> students )
I think it's easy to be the first type if you're just a confident speaker and are able to think quickly on the spot. The other types actually require a solid knowledge of pedagogy or years of experience dealing with students. Especially the last type.
Also, mind you, the first lesson plan I uploaded to Waygook (What is beauty?), was a good 3 to 4 months into my contract. Looking back at the lessons I made during the first few months, it seemed like a completely different person made them.
Thanks for the kind words misterf~
