FALSE. I have eaten dukgalbi in Seogwipo, Jinju, Geoje, Busan, Jeonju, Seoul and Chuncheon, more than once in five of those seven cities given how much I like the dish, and let me tell you: dukgalbi IN Chuncheon is better than elsewhere. The dukgalbi on Geoje was pretty close, but in closed in '04 over the bird flu scare. The next best was Jinju, with two half decent restaurants. But make no mistake: it is not the same.
Just like bibimbap is very different between Jeju, Gyeongsangnamdo, Jeonju and Seoul. If you didn't know that then either you haven't travelled around much or weren't paying attention!

Theres a good place in gangneung....It's called Chuncheon dakkalbi hahaha

Is anyone aware if there is a vegetarian option at some of these places? As in, can you get all of the veggies, rice, cheese, dokk, etc but no chicken?
I'm transitioning to veg and finding more and more "mom and pop" Korean restaurants accomodating, but still wondering about dalkgalbi chains.

Uh... Yea just order cheese bokkumbap and ask them to throw some dokk in it. As for going to a dakkalbi place to do it? Kind of weird isn't it? It's like going to a BBQ place in Texas and asking for a salad.

Not weird if you have meat-eating friends.
