How to watch American TV in Korea??
« on: November 09, 2011, 08:24:11 PM »
Hey everyone.. getting a little tired of Korean drama on TV and craving some trashy American shows and movies. I realize that I cant get my normal Netflix or Hulu fix. Does anyone know how to get around this or how to get English shows and movies on my laptop? I should mention I have a fairly slow internet connection. Thanks!

I was going to say stream but if you have a slow connection, that'll be a pain.  Try downloading.

www.fastpasstv.ms

www.btjunkie.org/com (can't remember)

www.thepiratebay.org

There are dozens of others mentioned on a thread somewhere on here so try looking through older threads.

proxy ip server or illegally.  I guess either way  you do it, it is hard to do it legally as most don't allow korean IPs to stream.

www.sidereel.com

Is the closest to a legal alternative I know.

I use a free proxy server, Hotspot Shield, http://www.anchorfree.com/ and then watch programs on Hulu.

You may think your internet connection is slow because many video sites (and WayGook.org) load very slowly.  This is usually caused by the server being in a different country (i.e the US).  The solution is to ditch streaming and start downloading.  I've gotten > 2MB/Second while downloading popular TV shows.  eztv.it is one of my favorites.

I totally agree. waygook.org is really slow for me, but streaming (sidereel.com) and torrents (btjunkie.com or isohunt.com) are all so fast that I'm yet again in the market for a new external HDD.
