Learning-based class
« on: November 26, 2011, 07:08:02 PM »
I don't know here is appropriate for this topic.

Anyway, these days the look of the class has been changing rapidly from teachers' teaching to learners' learning, I think. What do you think of that? Do you have any ideas about that?

In my experience, for learner's centered class, I've made a simple lesson plan each class, attaching worksheets. And at the beginning of each class, I've given English notebooks which students had submitted to me last class so that students can keep writing something throughout the class. At the end of the class they are supposed to submit the notebooks to me again. In the English notebook, anything related to English can be included; words and expressions they learnt, pictures about some articles, song relics, poems, and so on.

Plus, I'd like to put one thing students can enjoy in class; for example, puzzles, songs, video clips, jokes, hot issues in Korea, special events when it comes to English cultures like Xmas, Thanksgiving, black Friday, Earth day and so forth.

In short, I'd love to know how I can make my class focus on students' learning, not my teaching. There might be lots of theories and models. Despite that, I just want to share this with anybody. Happy weekend!
