I don't have time to read through but I want to donate.  I can't pay from my Korean account as I'm sending all my pay checks back home to pay off debts and have already sent the last pay check over, but I do have an overseas visa card.  I skimmed through and think I read you can pay by paypal.  How? where do I click?  Is there a "pay now" or "donate now" button?

Such a good thing to stick together thank you waygook for thinking to stand by one another.

Wow...my heart goes out to him and is family. What an awful situation.  It makes all of us consider how fortunate we are...and, to get a physical check up.

Please, keep us posted on this horrible situation. Onelove

Hmm, but you do have time to edit your post.

The Paypal account name is in the first message of this thread.

That's not needed Lotte.  It was well intentioned.  The info you need should be right at the start of the thread. :)  It was also posted a few times throughout the thread discussion.

I'm so glad to hear that the operation went well for both Mike and Randall. Wish them both a speedy recovery. I can't imagine what an ordeal this must have been for Mike and his family.

Thanks Arsalan for sending out a mass email - that's how I got to hear about Mike's situation. Thanks also to the teachers in Miryang for going above and beyond to help out a fellow teacher and friend.

I've made a small donation and I'm happy to see that so many have been supportive and have contributed as well . Hope the goal amount is reached soon. Will spread the word.

Best of luck to the Milne family.

As of today, we have raised 19.5 million won through your extremely generous donations, of which 3.5 million was used for the pre-operation tests for Mick's brother. Thank you SO much to everyone who has supported Mick and his family.

We would also like to thank you for your words of encouragement that you are sending to us, Mick's friends, who are still trying very hard to raise the money needed.

Arsalan, and waygook.org - we would not have been able to reach these numbers without your help and support!  I know we say it alot, but each and every time we sincerely mean it - THANK YOU!

Thank you to the posters that are helping to refer people to previous posts giving the information they are inquiring about.  I appreciate it.

We will do our best to keep you further updated!

I have forwarded this information to my church back in the US. I will certainly follow up with them in the coming days, perhaps there is something they can do to assist in raising the money to help with this endeavor.

I sent messages to both 'eatyourkimchi' and 'reddit'.  I have not received a response from either of them.  Thank you to everyone who suggested it though, and who also sent messages.

We are halfway there with the donations, so new posts and fresh eyes reading this will help alot.  Please do pass on this message.

Thank you so much again - to everyone who has helped us out, and to those who continue to do things.  We sincerely apperciate it!

I have gone to my bank, NH, to transfer money to Michael twice.   I tried to transfer using the ATM.  All four attempts told me I used an invalid account number.  Any ideas?  I copied the one from the above post.

Hey all,

I emailed Simon and Martina about the fundraising and got a nice and polite reply back from Simon. Basically, they have a lot fewer expat viewers than I thought. It turns out over 90% are from outside the US (and probably kpop obsessed teens), so they don't feel a video would be beneficial to them, their viewers, and in the end the cause. However, he did say they'd be willing to donate personally if I send them his paypal addresss, so that's something!

So I got an answer now! I'll post the answer I recieved.
Hiya,

Thanks for reaching out to us.  Unfortunately, it wouldn't be in our best interests to reach out to our fans about this.  Over 90% of them are from outside of Korea, not even teachers, and they have little connection to the teaching community here, so asking them would be both odd for them, and something they wouldn't be interested in.

We'd be willing to donate something to the cause, though.  If you could send us Michael's Paypal address, we'll send something that way.

Best,

Simon and Martina Stawski
Eat Your Kimchi

So I just copied the adress and the information on the first page. I hope it's the right adress? :)

Ha! I got the same email. Oh well. I had actually included all the information in my initial email, but perhaps they didn't see it?  Anyway, it looks like they'll be getting their answer repeated a few times, oh well!

Hi,

I know I am a complete stranger but I can't imagine the situation Michael is facing.  Being in a foreign country just makes it all the more complicated, all the more scary, and all the more daunting.  If there is any way I can help my blood type is O- and I am volunteering to do a blood test as a potential match.  If it were me or a family member or a friends I would hope someone else would offer the same.

I am keeping Michael in my prayers,
Jenn

I made a donation yesterday through a bank transfer, and my co-teacher also made a donation last friday. I wish Michael and his brother a speedy and safe recovery.
Also well done to those who organised these efforts for Michael and his family; as it stands proof positive, that no matter how daunting lifes setbacks may appear, they fade away through the countless acts of human grace and kindness we are all capable of.

Jenn, thank you for the offer, but as you can see from the updates, the surgery has taken place, and apparently no more blood is needed.

Thank you again, to everyone who has made a donation, and who continues to pass on this information for the possibility of new donations.  We are halfway there, and will continue with our efforts until we know one of Mick's worries is taken care of.

We sincerely appreciate the on-going support.
