Charades (how to)
« on: November 23, 2011, 04:58:33 PM »
So I wanted to play charades with my afterschool kids but needed a way to introduce it. I figured there would probably be a ppt on here somewhere but I couldn't find one after lots of searching.

So I made a little prezi and thought I would share it.
http://prezi.com/1bqf5upuqukd/how-to-play-charades/

It's pretty simple, goes over the rules and some of the gestures.
It's surprisingly difficult to find pictures of charades gestures on the internet!

I used it with my middle school kids today and they loved the game. But as I'm sure you all know, it's great for any age group. The prezi has a few too many words in some spots, but you can skip over them and go to the pictures.

Thanks for this :)  I had completely forgotten all the special hand signals so this is really helpful.

Being as this is korea, why did you decide to put an animation of a lady in a bikini top?

I was a little worried about the bikini top, however I went through about 20 different videos online about charades and that was the best one I could find (for showing the different gestures). She doesn't appear for too long and Korean Kpop stars wear the same type of clothing, it's not really new to them.
Sure I got a few giggles but then a new person appears on screen. I'm teaching middle school kids and didn't have any problems with the video, maybe it's not great for elementary kids.
