Grade 3, Lesson 3 "How are you?"
« on: November 24, 2011, 08:49:52 pm »
Here's a practice ppt and listening worksheet and board game (I created all of these  ;))
Because most of them at this point can't read, the worksheet does not contain any words. Instead, the teacher will say one feeling and if it matches the picture, they circle the checkmark, if not then the x.

How to play the board:
Students can move in either direction on the board including across, BUT they must land on finish to finish. The bombs mean that EVERYONE goes back to start.

Enjoy! I hope you can use it.

This is a ppt that I made so my kids would stop telling me "i'm fine" all the time.  It's still pretty basic but they seemed to enjoy it...I attached the "How Are You" song by the Busy Beavers.  It's a great song because not only does it do emotion but also the days of the week.

Hi Its my first time teaching English in a foreign country ,, well a lot of firsts but anyway I have a school which I teach several grades 3rd - 6th and spend some time in kinder as well . but the classes are very small mostly 2-3 students . I use different books at each of my 3 schools , I am planning my lessons for 3rd grade and I have a lot of freedom in planning lessons I have noticed that my students are similar to what has been mentioned. Should I try and cover each of the topics a little bit or stick to more the speaking and listening which is more along the lines of communicating since these kids are not being graded ?? ,,,
