India-vacinations and visa advice

Hi,

I'm planning to travel to India and Nepal this January.

Where can I get vaccinations for India? I live in Pohang Gyeongsangbukdo, but if anyone knows of something like a travel clinic I am willing to travel.

Also, is it possible to go through a travel agent for my visa or do I have to go to the embassy personally?

Any info would be great!

Thanks

A lot of the visa stuff depends on your country.

I'm a U.S. Citizen.  When I went to India, I had to use this:

Also, you'll need lots of vaccinations for that part of India.  LOTS.

I can't even remember all that I had to get.

If you are going to India for the first time - it is cutting close for vaccines!

Visa first - I am Canadian, and I applied for my visa online, through the embassy in Seoul.  I sent my passport to them, via delivery service, and had it back within 5 business days, with my visa.  Check out the INdia Embassy in Seoul webpage.  They have outsourced the visa application centre, and it is very easy - but you do have to fill out the form online to make it easier.

I went to Kyungpook University Hospital in Daegu for my typhoid shots, Hep A+B shots, and malaria prescription.   Typhoid shots are a series of 3, usually one month apart each.  The malaria pills require you to start taking it a few days before you leave, and then up to one week when you get back.

The doctor spoke English at the centre I went to, and they were pretty helpful.

Good luck!

How much were the vaccinations?

Thanks for the info!

Geeze I hope there's something else I can do for the typhoid shots!
