K-Pop Slam 2...(2)?
« on: December 14, 2011, 09:02:09 am »
Hello,

So a long time ago I DLed K-Pop slam and then made my own. However so did others. Figured I'd share mine.

Dropbox.com: e-mail- the_branman@sbcglobal.net, password - blckmg3309

Googledocs: http://tinyurl.com/c3pzon7

Like the others you have to keep everything in the folder, the answer sheet is an excel file. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Also the "Roman" category is the Korean words translated to English. U.S.A. are U.S. Pop songs. And Disney are from Disney Movies.

You do not need to DL any fonts. I made everything in Photoshop and Illustrator so they are just images, not actual text. The song lyrics are editable text.

I uploaded some preview images.

I have not Dled the other K-Pop Slam 2, and this is in no way a diss against the makers, I'm sure it's wonderful.

Thank you,
Wintermute

Looks fantastic, however when I download and unzip, the individual gifs and wmvs etc.  are there as a list view. I don't see how it all comes together in the actual game.
Any advice?
Thanks

hmmm, hate to say this question confuses me.

The actual game is a PPTX file or a PPT.97 file, which brings everything together.

I'd say the best way to view the files is by right clicking in the folder and using "view as icons", and "arrange by type".

I really want to help so any more specific questions you have I'll try to answer.

Your right, it was there.  I didn't see it with all the other files.  I didn't look close enough.
Thanks and may I say it is EPIC! :o

Why yes you may kind sir.

If you don't mind me asking, does everything work right? any known issues?

I've passed this off to a lot of KETs at other schools, just making sure it works right.

Thank you :)

This is very clean and pretty! I like how there's an aesthetic theme, and there's no clutter!

The last category, and the USA songs would work great with my advanced classes - English keeners! Although it would have been nice to have all the video clips be of the lyrics in question!

Nice work. I found the bonuses, when clicking on the return arrow, did not bring me back to the correct slide. . . I just changed the hyperlinks and it worked fine.

I have a question, though.  Why is the one category called "Roman"?

Thats a good question with no good answer.

Really I just couldn't think of anything else to call it. Roman came from Romanization, which I realize isn't directly related to what I've done but calling it, "Translate", or "English" seemed silly.

Best part is when the kids say it, it sounds like woman. I get a laugh.

You are a savior!  After playing the first two K-pop Slams, my third graders have been bugging me about playing a third... I have never heard more "I love you"'s in my entire life than when I opened up your game for them to play.  Thanks!

I plan on using this next week for my last class.  I tested out most of the questions and all of the videos seemed to work.  I couldn't make the bonus 2ne1 seem to work.
About how long does it take to play the game?
Hoping for 40minutes.
Thanks again.

Hello all,

Yes the 2ne1 bonus will not take you back to the question board. I used a separate surprise because I did 2ne1 the first Kpop game.

Anywho, you can right click on the blue K and edit the hyper link back to the question board.

The game usually falls right on 40 minutes depending on your management skills.

Can it be uploaded here, please?  Tinyurl is blocked at my school.

It  can't be uploaded on Waygook.org because the file size it far too large.   I think the cap is 60 megabytes?    I'm also having difficulty downloading the file using Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and IE 8.    That's too bad.

Does anybody have a link to megaupload?

Googledocs works!  Downloading now, thank you!  It's tinyurl that's blocked.  I didn't know you also had a Google Docs version.  I'll be opening it in a minute.

@Wintermute, if I could like this 1000 times I would. Major props for creating a very visually pleasing and varied game. I like that you kept the backgrounds clean and also included HD clips from the MVs. I know these take a lot of time so your work is greatly appreciated.

I downloaded this at school and the GoogleDocs method worked perfectly. Thanks.

2 things though, for others downloading this just copy the "K" hyperlink from any of the other slides to the 2nE1 bonus ones and it'll link you back to the main slide.

Also the Beyonce Single Ladies clip didn't work but if you just re-insert again it'll work fine. These are 2 minor things that were easy to fix.

My students (and I) really thank you for this!  ;D

I just downloaded this, and I will definitively use this next week.  I was going to show a movie or something, but this will be so much more fun and I'm sure the students will love it. Thanks so much for it. I'm sure you put a lot of effort into it.

I'm just having one little problem; 2 of the videos won't play for me. Beyonce, Single ladies and B1A4: Beautiful Target.
I have tried to re-insert them again as suggested above but they still don't work. Does anybody have any suggestions.

I found the problem with the Justin Bieber video and a few others. It seems the problem results from an extra empty text box which blocks the ability to click on the videos. I went into each slide and made sure there were no extra boxes blank text boxes and the problem was solved.
