I've never had to attend.

For those of you who actually do have to plan some sort of lesson, are you just finding anything semi-relevant for the students to work on/kill time?

I had my students make and decorate Chinese LNY lanterns, and they loved it. Now I want something else crafty/time consuming to do. Hmmmmmm...

Last year I finished 'Finding Nemo.' They watched the first half the week after exams. This year I have only had one class and seems I won't be having any or many more. I am enjoying the new heating system they put in my room.

This is an amalgamation of two games posted previously on this site.

Split the students into 6 teams (5/6 students per team). Two rounds of games (skill and knowledge) with 8 questions in each.

Each team chooses one round to use their joker and receive double points for that round.

The game takes between 30-45 minutes depending on level and moving students into teams, explaining the game etc.

I have played it with both Grade 1 & 3 (middle school) and it's been received well by students and co-teachers alike. It's fun, semi-educational and keeps their attention.

The games are not mine and I take no credit for the material here but if your short of what to do during grad week I'd recommend this.

It will be very much like winter.
