My previous had about 80 students. Average class size was about 12. I liked it quite a bit.

What is the size of the school you teach at?
Your smallest school/camp?
In big city or in countryside?

My usual school has about 900 students.

My smallest school is the one I'm doing a summer camp at now. 24 students in the WHOLE school. Needless to say, its a challenge!

about 900 students in a city of 400k or so.
very industrialized but poor socio economic area.
tekkie hS.
i always have 1st graders, 1st semester i have 3rd graders/no 2nd graders.. and 2nd semester i get 2nd graders/no 3rd graders.

I work in rice paddy land, and teach 110 students split into four classes/three grades. Camp was just 11 students. I can't imagine teaching any less than that, as only a few students in each class really participate.... Jeez I can't imagine teaching only one poor student!!!

Biggest is 80, smallest is 5.  The smaller school's actually a lot of fun, one-on-one teaching is really effective and discipline is never a problem.

About 1100-1200. There are 2 of us here now, but next year they're all mine. I'm not sure I'll see them all next year though.

My school is quite small. I think about 6 classes per grade, or around 500 students.

It's really interesting to hear about these tiny schools.  I've only worked in Seoul, so I've only experienced behemoth schools in comparison.  My first elementary school was about 1400 kids, and where I come from that's huge.  My new one is only 400 kids, which after years in Seoul I consider microscopic.  Plus it's relatively new and pretty.  At my first school I would see 5th-6th once a week and 3rd & 4th every other week, with classes in the 30-35 range.  Now I see each class twice a week and there's 20-26 in each.  I actually know the kids now.  It's also much easier to get to know the other staff and be part of the school community in this smaller school.

I visited my friend out in the country a few weeks ago and while in 'town' (a love motel, small grocery and a villa or two along a side street off the country highway) we discovered a school.  We took a walk around, it was small but had lots of room for the kids to play outside which I cannot say about the schools in Seoul.  I wonder about the foreign teacher there.  That must only be one of several schools they go to.  Don't know how you guys do it, I feel abandoned if I'm more than 1km from a subway station.

my school is ave. size, I think. But, I won't be able to teach all the students because I will go over my max. working hours. So, I will be teaching all the 1st years, 2nd years and part of 3rd years.

For the 2011 school year, I taught at an elementary school and middle school.  The elementary school had 55 students in the entire school but I only taught grades 3-6. I really enjoyed this small elementary school since it was just like teaching in a hagwon except you could use the smart classrooms for more engaging material. The middle school had about 700 students but I only taught grades 1 and 2.
This year I changed to a school about 600 meters away from the other middle school and has bout 750 students. Classes range from 30-40/class which is way too many. I can see the economic differences between the two middle schools even though they are only 600 meters apart so the English level this year isn't as proficient as last year's middle school.

I think we have about 500 students in the school.  I like that we only have about 24 students per class - at my last school it was always around 35, which I understand is more usual, but the difference in English ability and behaviour is very obvious.

My main school in Gyeongbuk is 300 students. My second school has only 17 students in the entire school! When I go to the smaller school once a week it is quite refreshing. The students are really calm and very kind to me. I look forward to the smaller classes,

My school has about 400 students, but it is shrinking.  There are 4 sections for 6th grade, 3 for 3rd, 4th and 5th, and I've heard that second grade only has 2. The class size is a bit larger, 27-30, because I think they didn't want to have to pay for another homeroom teacher, so class size got sacrificed instead.  However, a giant apartment complex is being built right next to my school, so once that is completed, I expect the school to grow a bit.  There is another elementary school almost within sight of my school, but because there are several large apartment complexes in the area, the schools can both keep their classes filled, sort of.

I've heard of schools in my city at are a lot larger and a lot smaller.  Some in heavily urban areas have upwards of 2000 kids and some out in the boonies have less than 50.  One only has 3 and will likely be shut down due to its size.

Somewhere between 1600 and 2000 students at my school. I teach 3rd-6th (30-36 per class 6-8 classes per grade). 40 kids in my camps and after school courses (2 classes of 20).  :)

Both of my schools are around 300-400 I think. I'd love to teach in the tiny schools that some of you are talking about. Teaching classes of <10 would be so much fun. I have a few HS 3rd grade classes where attendance is optional so the only students that show up are ~10 motivated students that want to learn English. Those classes are the best.
