Personally, I think this whole "re-assimilating back to your home country" is kinda hogwash unless you've been out of your country for more than a few years.
It's not like just because you've been in korea for 1 or 2 years that you'll find it hard to "fit in" back to your home country. After all, you've lived in your home country for probably 20+ years (minimum) and a couple years in a foreign country is going to make "re-assimiationg back to your home country" a big deal?
Hey, if you were in prison for 40 years like in the movie Shawshank Redemption, that's called re-assimilation and a failure to do so (Brooks Haddinson). A couple years teaching english overseas isn't going to destroy your memory and ability to adapt back to your home life lol. Wow people.
Remember, the world is becoming pretty much the same thing everywhere you go these days. Korea isn't that much different now with all the McDonald's and Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks here. Plus, with the internet, you pratically get to stay plugged and tuned into everything back home 24/7.
We don't need to make it like a "Planet of the Apes" syndrome when you go back home lol.
