And as for pretty/ugly, you can't entirely base it on your home countries standard. For instance, if there's a not-overweight white dude in a collared shirt, with short hair, clean-shaven, it often doesn't matter that at home, we might say the dude is still funky looking. Here, he's considered fine as hell.

Yeah, what I was trying to say is that unless you're blonde and blue eyed (which is a near automatic win), the clothes, hair style, hygiene, and all of that stuff is way WAY more important than how your face/body actually looks.  So being "pretty/handsome" and wearing a t-shirt is much less impressive than "ugly" with a properly-fit formal shirt and a fashionable (but conservative) haircut.  They expect you to put effort into your photo.

OP, what recruiters have you used?

It took less than 2 weeks from the moment I started sending out resumes to the moment I signed a contract to find a job in Busan. And I'm not blonde nor blue-eyed...

Appearance is big in Korea. Play that to your advantage.
