Hope this is still of some use, but...if you're worried about the amount of your taxes, this website is full of the info you need, and they have a handy-dandy tax calculator built in here:

You can choose between flat taxes (15%) or progressive tax rates; I recommend choosing whichever is cheaper.  Good luck!

Does anyone know if you can get your tax money back if you are American? Can you get it after the fact? Ive been her 1.5 years and im sure I paid some tax.

Did you submit a residence certificate to your school before you had your first pay packet, as detailed in your contract (EPIK 13.5)?  If you are eligible you should pay no tax for the first two years you are here.

Read your contract.  Find out if you are eligible.  Talk to your school office (or whoever pays you).
