Adult Photography Class Suggestions
« on: February 04, 2012, 11:16:37 AM »
Hello everyone,

I have been working in Korea for over 7 years now with 8+ years of experience teaching. This includes both public elementary kids in Canada, Brazil, and Korea + teaching at a uni in Korea. Though I teach in Korea, I am in actuality, a photographer with a degree in Political Science (I usually focus on photojournalism in Asia, etc).

I am thinking about putting together a class from the parents of my students, teaching them a masters of photography class in English here. I already have a detailed syllabus that I am happy with, but would love to hear suggestions, recommendations from anyone who has taught a similar course.

Have them look on photo collection sites such as Flickr.  They can also compare their own works and give feedback.

I have been toying around with this idea for sometime. Given some thought. I think that the course should have a heavy focus on landscape, portrait, and possibly even macro/food photography. However, starting with the basic terms and then working into different techniques would be a good start.

Photo critiques would also make a great unit and could work for a final project which would include an exhibition.
