I'll be in the States for 4 months, so I'll need a phone to use. I'd like to use my iPhone 4, which I got here in Korea, with a pre-paid card if possible. Has anybody done this? I'd much rather do this than carry two phones around during my vacation in the States.

I don't have an answer for you. I had a smart phone that I brought to the states. I receieved text messages just fine, but Kakao and other apps weren't working for me.

I hope someone replies who knows! This is a good question.

My girlfriend brought her iPhone to the US last summer.  We asked at a few places about pre-paid cards, but no one had them.

What I did was buy a dirt cheap, pay-as-you-go phone .  The phones themselves are as cheap as $10 (TracFone, GoPhone).  It's really the total opposite of an iPhone.  But, if you won't use the phone that much, it might be good since you won't be home long-term.
C is for cookie, that's good enough for me.

If your phone is unlocked you should have no problems. Go to Olleh or wherever  you bought the phone and have them unlock it. They will do it.

Go to T-Mobile to get the prepaid sim, they have data options as well.
