Where do you live? Many Lotte Department stores have GNCs in them. Also, many gyms or fitness centers sell protein or will order it for you.

protein shakes can be found on this website:

http://speedns.co.kr/

and jimmy dean style sausages can be found at the hannam foreign market.

this site is also good:

http://www.healthkoreaus.com/

e-mail the owner if you need guidance on how to purchase.

for an english site, try iherb.com as another poster mentioned. it has an enormous selection of supplements and the shipping is quite cheap.

the advantage korean sites have over iherb.com  is that shipping is 10,000 W FLAT regardless of how much you order, whereas iherb.com charges more as the weight increases.

Ive heard that iherb.com is great, and Ive looked, but have yet to order anything.

ugh, do NOT go to GNC. prices at home are ridiculous and theyre even more so here!

Not the best... but if youre in a bind for a quickfix you can grab small jars of protein at Costco that are made by Weider

yes, iherb is good. i order from there because the korean sites don't have the product i want.

just remember that the Korean custom law is that if the value of the shipment (including freight) exceeds 150,000 W (so you'll have to do some converting if prices are quoted in a foreign currency), you'll pay fees.

i *think* the tax rate is 25%, so you'll pay 25% of anything over 150,000W.  for example, if the value is 160,000W, you'll pay 2,500W (25%* [160,000W - 150,000W]). sometimes customs will let you go if it's JUST above the threshold, but don't count on it.

I've been ordering from iHerb for years and just learned this the hard way yesterday. Have to pay 50,000 won on a $150 shipment  >:( So, you are incorrect, it's 25% of the entire order, not just what you pay over the amount of 150,000.

Here's an iHerb code: FES089

iHerb is great, but I've had my packages delivered at 11 pm on a couple occasions!!!!

I contacted iHerb about this just yesterday and they told me under 130,000 won.

healthkoreaus.com is the best place I think. I ordered the big jug of monster milk there and the total was less than 80k. I am VERY satisfied and it ships from the US and only took 4 days. Wow, I am definatly sticking with them!!! and 10,000won flat shipping is absolutly fantastic!!!

Bodybuilding.com has DHL international shipping.  May be a little pricey, but you're getting good quality products. I saw protein powder here... it had 9g of protein per serving. Are you kidding me?

I've been using this whey protein for about 5 months now and it's actually pretty good.  It's cheap too.  Each serving has 25g of protein.

yes. well, it's not the web site that charges duty--it's Korean customs.

i believe iherb rep is wrong as i even checked the korean customs web site and fedex told me the same--it's 150,000W. perhaps the iherb rep got confused with USD and WON, since $130 USD is approximately 150,000W.

bodybuilding.com is not worth it. these other web sites offer great prices and the shipping is WAY faster and cheaper. the korean sites and iherb.com take 5 days AT most for less than $10 shipping. bodybuilding.com takes up to two weeks and the shipping is significantly pricier.

I'm guessing that because it's shipped from the US, yes, unless you can ask them to write a different total on the packaging slip.  :o

this thread is great!  Im currently working my way through a sub-par costco protein!
Cant wait to make a decent order.  I mean the costco is still a serving of protein, but I cant even read the label to tell which kind it is!!!!

so just to get final clarification from those in the know...

As long as my order from iherb.com  is UNDER 150,000 won (or 130,000) ,
then customs CANNOT charge me any additional fee??

Just want to make absolute sure because I hate those kind of surprises!
Thanks!

Yes, I've placed dozens of orders over $100 but under $130 and it was fine. This was the first time I ever had to pay customs fees, so I was bummed.

Also, they have 33% off shipping now :)

I ordered a 7 kg drum of top quality protein from gmarket and all up it cost 40,000-45,000 including post.
They even included a few small books on exercises and a shaker/mixer bottle.
Can't go wrong with them.

What I am worried about is the address.

My co teacher gave me a weird break down of the address without postal code. He also said I have to put the address in Korean as well.

Is this true?

p.s. I want to order from Iherb
