My question would be, without a coteacher, how do you deal with communication issues? I'm not sure that I could teach my classes without a coteacher to at least give the occasional translation.

Hey all,
I just finished my first lessons and I can forsee some discipline problems may occur in the future.  These ideas are great and I hope to use my second lesson to dicuss rules and establish classroom rules together with the students.  I realise that this will benefit me greatly throughout the year.

This is my first year teaching, and I gave my student the following class rules on the first day:

1. English Only
2. Be Prepared
3. Respect Everyone
4. Use Complete Sentences

Aside from the occasional problem with number one, my classes afterwards have been pretty responsive to these rules.

Ahh, thank you for these lessons. I have some spare time before I leave in a few weeks to teach high school and have started preparing the first couple lesson plans to help relieve some of the first day jitters  :D
