Multiple Entry Visa

<< < (2/2)

Once you have your ARC card, they will ask for it along with your passport when you check in for flights.  This happened to me when I was flying back to Korea a few weeks ago after vacation.  Your passport sticker from the Korean embassy gets you in the country initially, your ARC card lets you come and go.

If in doubt, the best way would be to call and find out yourself. The immigration hotline number is 1345 and you can talk to them in English. You can also visit their website on " www.hikorea.go.kr" but I find it easier and faster to talk to them in person...^^

When I picked my my ARC card they told me that a multi entry visa was not required as the ARC card replaced it. Yet when I arrived the local education board told me that I needed to get one sorted out.

I guess with time the idea of multi entry visas will fade away.

That said I have yet to try leaving Korea.

Thanks for the clarification VV08. Its good to hear from someone that has actually left the country and returned.

Does anyone know if the process is different for different nationalities? Someone told me that there is a slightly different procedure for residents of different countries.

:)

Do you mean applying for the visa or what happens once you have your ARC?

As far as visa applications, they are pretty much the same for all nationalities minus a few small differences, like the required consular stamp for Canadians versus apostille for Americans for some documents.  It is possible to search for your nationality and E2 visa application process to find out exactly what the differences or requirements are for you.
