So many of you have had your first or second day of teaching and I'm sure a few of you are a little worried.

Don't be! Like many things it gets so much easier and it will get better. I was HORRIBLE when I first started and I didn't have KT in the room. He came in once to yell at me. lol
My advice after 5.5 years is be yourself and use your strengths. I'm not artistic nor can I sing or play the guitar. I can come up with fun games and stuff.
Steal the crap out of lessons from people who you think are good teachers. This is how I became a really good swimming teacher. I watch all the instructors at my YMCA as much as I could.
Fake it till you make it! You only have to be better at what your teaching than the students.
Have fun in class! Seriously, time goes so much faster if you smile and have some fun. Today I told my students "I'm not your mom, I won't be cleaning the room for!"
A fun activity to end the class: Rock, scissors, paper. All the kids play against you. First round: RSP and the students who beat you stand up. Then you play down to 2-3. If they tie or lose they sit down. Then the last few pick 2 friends and get to leave 1 minute early. I do this 2 times and then have the others push in chairs and straighten up.
I think it's better than the losing team from the game has to clean up since I don't want them to stop participating.
Feel free to add anything or make comments. GL and FIGHTING! BT
