Foreigners in Jinhae - requesting information about the area
« on: March 28, 2012, 03:37:10 PM »
Me and some friends are going to Jinhae next weekend for the cherry blossom festival but can't seem to find much info on where to stay - does anyone have any suggestions about  민박(minbak) or hostels or something of the like in the area?  Any info would be useful!!

I've lived in Jinhae for the past 4 months, it's not a huge place so the selection of Hotels/hostels is quite limited and i'm assuming they will get booked up pretty quickly! Have you considered staying in Changwon? From there you are only a 15 minutes taxi ride away depending on traffic................

We're going to get the train into Masan - maybe there's better luck there? Could you estimate how far that is from Jinhae?

You can take the 160, 161, 162, 163 but NOT 164 to Jinhae from Masan. Go early or be prepared to sit in traffic on the way there... every man and his dog will be going to Jinhae over the next few weekends!

It usually takes about 30 minutes from Masan to Jinhae, but like daveb says go early otherwise you will get stuck in traffic!

are they starting to bloom yet? I was planning on going next weekend, but I don't want to waste my time if they aren't in bloom :-/

So this being a festival and all, is there any specific time and place that the Cherry Blossom goes to? Or do you just show up anytime from now until April 10th, and just kindof randomly walk around the town of Jinhae and try to find cherry blossoms to look at?
