High School - 04 - Adjectives

This class is a wrapper around the Fortune Teller Activity found in the JLP Resource book. 

Adjectives:
  • Native Speaker introduces the concept of Adjective to the class. 10 minutes.
  • Native Speaker performs Fortune Teller activity with the students. 20 minutes.
  • The Class will perform Fortune Teller activity via the Interview Worksheet handout. 10 minutes.
  • The Class will present their Fortune Teller activity to the rest of the class. 10 minutes.

Notes:
  • The class level could only have two or three syllable words for both adjectives and professions.
  • Choose a number may not be in the student's vocabulary; instead try what is your favorite number?
  • Some classes skipped the interview because they were having too much fun playing the Fortune Teller game.
  • The resource book also uses number of children as part of the fortune teller activity; it was omitted here for no particular reason.
  • To keep the Fortune Teller game going strong, use plenty of outrageous adjectives and professions.  Students will often volunteer their friend for a fortune teller.

The kids really enjoyed the fortune teller game, but I found this lesson was lacking alittle substance as it doesn't really review any of the professions like it does with the adjectives. So I created a couple of puzzles with jobs in them to help with that review portion (I do the profession review first, then adjectives, then the fortune teller game). I though I would post the puzzles and the answer keys if anyone is interested. I generated them at armouredpenguin.com
