Efficient public transport.
Being able to go out, eat and get full for <5000won equivalent.
Cheap (but nasty) alcohol.
Outdoor markets, buildings dedicated to one thing only. (I'm looking at you nagwon and yongsan)

Solitude.
Strangers on the street being more or less fit and well dressed.
Paychecks grossly disproportionate to the difficulty of work.
Low-cost of living (including healthcare/dental/eyeglasses).
The ability to ignore insufferable people in public (usually even without headphones!).
Here's a big one that I'm not really missing right now in the dead middle of summer, but HEATED FLOORS.
Wonderful mass public transit.
Shopping districts (especially in Seoul). Even though it's cheaper to get things on gmarket a lot of the time, it's easy to audition products and get some hands on with something before buying it if you go into a shop.

In all likelihood, I'll be going home later this year. I'm a bit burned out on Korea..

1) The paycheck. I never have to worry about money in Korea and I always walk around with plenty in my wallet. Quite the contrast to back home
2) Job. Easy to get unlike back home where you have to pray and beg for a job. Plus the job is dead easy. No real effort required.
3) Work schedule. I guess this is related to the job, but I love the afternoon hagwon schedules. I wish I could get a decent paying gig back home that started at 2 or 3 pm.

As far as Korean culture, food, entertainment...no, I won't miss any of those. Just job related things that I will miss.

Reasonably priced, beautiful clothes that actually fit me and can be picked up virtually anywhere--upstairs boutiques at E-Mart, subway station, neighborhoods, etc.  I love how accessible shopping is here, and if you're a "petite size" in the West Korea is a clothes-shopping paradise.

I'll also miss being able to use one card on the subway AND the bus.  (Seriously, it's such a good idea...get with it American public transit).

I'll miss the paycheck for a short while and nothing more. I will be more relieved than anything when that day comes.
I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best. (Wilde)

This I like:

-Smoking in bars.
-Cheap cigarettes.
-Easy, steady, non-manual labour employment.
-Bars open late.
-Cheap taxis.
-Attractive people. Men who aren't fat, gross slobs wearing Wal-Mart jeans. Girls who suffer to look good, ie. stilettos and miniskirts year round.
-Karaoke
-Refillable 반찬
-Safety and lack of crime (from a male perspective, at least)

Things I won't miss:

-Rude, ignorant people.
-Sexism
-The difficulty (read: impossibility if you don't want to install a bunch of trashware on your computer) of online banking
-Difficulty in communicating
-Kimchi puke on the streets
-Expensive prices for quality clothing and shoes

The cheap cost of living, when it comes to bills and especially,  travel expenses.  You can take a train from Busan to Seoul for maybe $40.00 max if you go KTX.  That's mind blowing to me! :o

I like that I have an easy unpressurised job where they are relatively low expectations of me.

I like that I get paid a nice amount of money for this that keeps me in a nice lifestyle.

I like cheap alcohol

I like going out for dinner and not feeling like u have been robbed.

I like Hot man bulgogi restaurant

I like not having to listen to the stupid and annoying things co workers say as I dont understand them.

I like having WIFI in most places.

I like the Autumn in Korea.

HAhahaha.  This made me laugh out loud.  I think that subconsciously, this is one of the reasons I haven't learned as much Korean as I probably should--I honestly love getting a pass out of the Office Gossip Club.

I love how free and independent I feel. Being a teacher in Korea, and a lone black girl for miles, makes me want to dress better and look more put-together than the laid-back student I was at home. I like how I can feel almost totally safe roaming around at night. I like that there are always English shows on my $3 basic cable channels. I like how different it feels, and how my students always come up to me, sometimes tripping over each other, to say 'Hello, teacher' and recite the sentence that they wrote on their hands so that they could say it correctly to me~ ^^ I like the respect that comes with being a teacher and how easily I can get from one side of the city to the other. I really, really like Korea! ^^
