Cool!  I was going to add the question asking about the point card, but I see it's already there.  I'll definitely try to learn a few of these phrases.  Some of them I probably couldn't translate directly still, but I know the correct (or working) responses for them, so that helps.  Great thread!

Hey mate,

If you want something comprehensive that deals with this situation specifically, hit up talktomeinkorean.com They have a set of videos that deals with set phrases customers need to use when ordering food and shopping and what salesmen/ladies need to use as well.  l

Here's a link, you'll see the rest on the right side.

Okay, I'm lost! What is it about taxes? This is my third time in Korea. I was here 6 months in 2008 and 15 months in 2009-2010. This time I plan to be here at least 2 years. Will I pay taxes? How so? What do I need to do?

Hi tausha~! I'm pretty sure that in the "Contract and Job Related" board there are several threads stickied about paying Korean (and other countries') taxes.  I'd suggest checking there first instead of in this thread. This one's a little more linguistic-focused and a little less how-to.  ;)

Ah, thanks, I was wondering what the cashiers were asking me. I just nodded along and blankly stared at them.

Bahahaha... that made me laugh because it's exactly what happened to me last night, only she was the same cashier that I had the day before so she gave me a knowing look whilst rattling on in blazing fast Korean. At least now I have some general idea of what she was saying.
