I went to Mongolia as a tourist last year and loved it..
Ulaan Batar was very interesting but only plan to spend three or four days there
than take a trip to the villages or Gobi or north.
I went in Oct/Nov and talking to locals I got lucky with the weather not being
amazing cold.
Guesthouses organize tours
Khonger guesthouse is one of the best guest houses
I have ever stayed in!It made the whole trip great! book in advance  because it will be full!

If you are into adult  fun check out the Seoul nightclub on the second floor of the seoul motel
It is Mongolias only strip club and an interesting, educational and fun time. (I call it educational
because you are communicating with locals and you meet Mongolians who speak English)
Its not expensive 150,000 won (180,000 torrgits)_ should cover the  night.. closes about midnight
