GOLDEN BELL ISN'T A GAME!

but in all seriousness.. it isn't.

These kids must be raised on golden bell because they LOVE it and yes.. it is just simple question and answer.

For real golden bell, the students ideally should have whiteboard/pens/eraser combos. with each question, each student writes down their answer.  After you call time everyone should raise their board, you check their answers, anyone who is wrong is disqualified.  LAST MAN STANDING WINS!  It's a blood bath.

I took a Mario game from the third grade multi lesson review from the Bandi book, and made it for the fourth grade Bandi book. I made a mistake, however so two slides are blank and lead to nothing  :( If you preview the slides on the left hand side, you will see there are two that have nothing but a background. Those are the two. I know nothing about connecting slides yet, otherwise I would have fixed it. Anyway, it goes over the whole book. Props to who uploaded the OG on the 3rd grade forum. PM me of there are any issues.

[EDIT] There are some slides that repeat. That wouldn't be an issue with me normally, but the answer is on the slide the second time around. Can anyone give me some tips one how to fix this, as well as put buttons that lead to a coin screen on the two blank slides mentioned above? It's such a great game, but there are just a few bugs.

I made a review PPT by pasting together various intro PPTs from lessons 7-12. I hope someone can get some use out of this.

Here's a review of lessons 1-6. It includes all the neccesary vocab mentioned in the book. Surprisingly it took me the entire 40mins of class to get through it but it seemed to work well.

It's the end of the semester so to kill some time, I did a mini phonics lesson with my students. It took about 15-20 minutes. It's all based around the Phonics Song.

First, I wrote the alphabet on the board. I had them say the names of the letters. Once they got to "g" I had them stop and I went back to "a." I asked what the name of the letter was and what the sound was. With a little practice, it was easy and they went through each letter saying the name first followed by the sound.

Afterwards, I played the song once. Then, I did a little bit of a letters quiz. I pointed to the letter and asked the name, sound and word from the song. After I did this with a few different letters, I played the song again. I did motions to each of the words while the song was playing and the kids liked that.

After the second time, I gave them all the phonics song worksheet and asked them to write the letters in the box. I played the song again while they were doing the worksheet. They should be finished by the time the song is over.

At the end, you can use the PPT to go over the answers or you can skip past that and go straight to the "quiz" at the end. I say the word and they tell me what letter is missing.

I made this worksheet because it's super simple and it was helpful for some of my low level students. The other students didn't seem too bored, which is good.

KidsTV123 has worksheets for the phonics song on their website also. You can find them here...
