My old boss, who I don't really trust , called today asking about my new school.

She said she needed the information for immigration .

I have already renewed my ARC and have done all the paperwork.

I told her I didn't feel comfortable disclosing my new work place.

Have you had to tell your old employer about a new job? Sounds fishy to me.

Ask them to send you an email and you'll pass it on.

If immi cleared your paperwork, your past employer does not have to know.

I was asked numerous times who my new employer would be, and I always refused to say.

In short, it's no longer their business or their right to know once you've quit.

Ignore their enquiries.

Ditto MC.

Don't let former irrelevant bosses haunt you. I know exactly how you feel.  There's no reason to tell them anything since you're cleared for immigration.  You could tell the boss to forward you any pertinent information from immigration and check it with immigration, but even that isn't necessary.

Just forget about it and move on with your new job.

It's absolutely none of her business. I have a policy of not disclosing any non-essential information about myself to any Korean employer, current or otherwise. This applies to all personal information. It is simply none of their business. Her asking you for non-essential information after you have left her employ is especially unacceptable in my opinion. Moreover, she's lying about immigration needing it. Immigration has the information, and any further information they need can be gotten directly from you. The staff at immigration speak English. They will call you. They won't go through a former employer.

I agree with the previous posters, it is none of your bosses business where you are working now.

I would suggest that you have your old boss send you anything he/she feels needs to be delivered to your new school.  This way you can filter the contents(a Korean friend could possibly help you out).

I had to have the Labor Board call an old boss to get them to cease contacting a new employer.

Good luck.

Your new school would have checked your references and may want to contact your previous school. in that case the onus would be on them to do so not on you! If you had a good relationship at the previous school why worry?
do your best always!

don't give them the info under any circumstances. there's no reason what so ever for them to ask such info!

Yeah, she hasn't contacted me since I told her no.

Won't be telling her anything. Really annoying though.
