Bundang School

(1/1)

ericleex86:
hello,

I will be flying out to Korea in 2 weeks to teach at a elementary school in Bundang area.  Just wanted to know if anyone has heard any good things about elementary schools in bundang and would like to share with me...

Thanks!!

Most schools in Bundang are pretty nice and well set up with anything that you may need. What is the name of the school you are working at?

Hey!
I started in a Bundang elementary school a month ago, and I think it's great. The area is affluent, which seems to mean really good facilities, and maybe students with a higher English level than average (with some exceptions of course!). I'm basing this on what my co-teachers tell me, and from comparing stories with teachers from other areas - I'm still a newbie so I'm not claiming to be a great authority! Morale at my school is pretty high anyway, so hopefully that's representative of the area in general.
Anyway, I'm happy that I ended up in Bundang. It's also a great place to live; easy to get into Seoul, but away from manic big city life, yet it's got enough going on in its own right too. There are parks and river walkways, millions of coffee bars, restaurants, etc...

Bundang is quite more expensive than other areas in Korea. Expect to pay a lot more for basic amenities than you would even in fancy Seoul areas.

This is especially true of:
-food
-monthly building maintenance fee
-PC bangs/other bangs
-drinking

kids will be good though. since it's elementary, I doubt it will be much different from any other area. But since your salary is set in stone no matter what area you're in, you probably won't be saving as much
