Sexy field trips to China.

(1/1)

Brian:

--- Quote ---High school students from Seoul and Gyeonggi are being investigated by education authorities on suspicion of buying sex while they were on field trips to China.
Word of the investigation follows an MBC program Tuesday claiming that Korean high schoolers were using Chinese prostitutes during field trips.
“We have previously conducted an investigation on students from schools that had field trips in China and nobody was reported to have engaged in such conduct,” said the Seoul Metropolitan Education Office. “But an additional investigation is now going on.”
Students from 19 Seoul high schools have toured China recently.
Gyeonggi authorities are also searching for students who may have dallied with prostitutes. Oh Wan-su, a senior supervisor at the provincial education office, said, “As soon as we conclude the investigation of the principals, teachers and students, those responsible will be heavily penalized.”
MBC quoted students saying that about 30 to 40 of their classmates paid for sex at a massage parlor in the basement of the hotel where they were staying. Some students claimed the massage shop had phoned the students in their rooms.
The program broadcast footage of some of the students entering the massage parlor.
A teacher at a high school in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi, which was mentioned during the television program, said, “I witnessed three students entering a massage parlor. When I asked how much they paid, the counter person said one student didn’t get any service and the other two paid 86 yuan ($11). If the students were to buy sex, they would have had to pay 900 yuan.”
In this case, 304 Pyeongtaek students visited Shandong, China from Aug. 27 to 31 with 12 teachers. The trip cost 320,000 won each.

Wow, the professor knows the going rate of rub-and-tugs in Shangdong.  Must've read it in an article, or something.   ::) I like to keep stories like this in mind whenever there is a moral panic over "unqualified" teachers, or druggies, or illegals, or all other manner of dirty foreigner.

Samuel:
900 yuan for a massage in China? Wow, he got taken  ;)

AlexMokpo:
This is just absurd on the pure basis of hypocracy.
If they have a problem with the students buying prostitutes, maybe they should look into solving the problem in their own country before complaining about run-a-mok students on field trips.  I'm quite willing to bet if they paid for it in China, they probably paid for it here too - it's not expensive.
