He had some theory about a pyramid of racial excellence with whites at the top, Koreans just underneath, Japanese under them, and all the way down to black Africans at the bottom. I had no problem telling him I rejected his theories absolutely (why would he think I'd want to hear about them at lunch?) but admittedly he wasn't an English teacher and he was about my age. I thought it was particularly weird because, if you're going to be a racist, wouldn't you put your own race at the top?

I've actually heard this from some Koreans before. Not the Nazi stuff, but the view that whites are at the top followed by Koreans, Japanese and so on. I don't understand it either.
Of course I've met more Koreans that think Koreans are at the top and everyone else is way below them. Fortunately the vast majority of those I've met have never expressed any views like this either way.
