Travel from Australia to Canada
(1/1)
jack117:
Hi, i was planning a trip from Perth Australia to Vancouver and Toronto and i was wondering what the best time to go is?
i know that in winter its cheaper and its best for skiiing and summer was good for hiking etc, but i wanted to know whether the sights and snow and everything in winter is better then the warm weather and things in summer if that makes sense?
The periods i can travel are June/July or Nov/Dec for about a 3/4 week period.
Thank you.

Hi jack117,
Vancouver has often been cited as one of the top 3 places to visit, by several Korean stewardesses I have met. It is well known for its beauty. If you want a sunny and enjoyable trip, I definitely would go June and July, as the rainy season starts in October and runs through March.
I went in March on two occasions and understood why people there often refer to it as "God's country".
I hope you have a chance to go in the summer, I hear that's the best time :)

You're Australian? If you come to Canada during the winter, you will find it C-O-L-D. Like, really cold.
I'm from the Toronto area, and I would say that the nicest times to visit are late spring and early fall (before is starts to get cold and snowy). Vancouver enjoys a much nicer climate, and you would have more flexibility with dates (though it does get rainy there).
Admittedly, I don't like winter sports, but I think you would have to be REALLY, REALLY into skiing to want to come during the winter. Plus, the skiing around Vancouver is awesome, but not so much around Toronto (you'd have to go all the way east to Quebec to find better skiing in Eastern Canada).
