Western style pedicure
« on: April 28, 2012, 05:57:50 PM »
Does anyone know where you can get a decent pedicure in Seoul that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?
I find that Koreans don't do pedicures the same way as back home or in other Asian countries.
Usually I have to pay almost 50,000 for just a cut and color which costs $10 back home and then they ask an extra $30 to $50 for design and another $30 to $50 for exfoliation, I find that this is a bit much.

Maybe is there a place where non-Korean nail technicians work?

Any ideas?

I pay 40,000 for a spa pedicure including heel scraping (!).  If your feet don't need the scraping, it would be 30,000-35,000.  I go to the Green Turtle in Itaewon (across from the Hamilton Hotel, above the Quizno's--google and you can find the phone number).  There may be other places, but this is the only one that I've been to that gives proper Western-style pedicures (the technicians are Korean though).  You can get lots of other salon services there too (waxing, hair, massage etc.).

@nomad_kate Thanks so much for your suggestion, I have been to the Green Turtle just not for nail care. And no I don't need foot scraping just exfoliation with the nail file.  See the other places said that the nail file was considered massage so they changed extra.

Can't wait to check it out, I will post my review when I am finished!
