Decorating the Classroom
(1/1)
jaxije:
So my elementary school is new and we really are in desperate need of decorations for the kids. Problem is I just got here like a week ago and I don't know where I should go to buy classroom decorations. Any ideas?
It would be even better if it was free because I have no budget. Thanks!
Some ideas I have but don't know where to find the posters: a globe with faces of children from all over the world, alphabet around the room (A is for angry etc)
My students are really smart so some difficult posters are great. For example, A is for apple is so last year to these students lol.
Thanks again : )

If you have access to a color printer, you could make your own A4 posters. There are also some nice posters to print at busyteacher.org, among other places (http://busyteacher.org/teaching_ideas_and_techniques/classroom-posters/).
If you don't have a decent printer, you could have the students make posters themselves. They could be about anything: vocab, grammar, & classroom English signs; student created restaurant menus, inventions, hobby clubs, or travel tours.

Another good one, assuming you have access to a colour printer and laminator, is http://www.mrspancake.com - I used loads of stuff from that site to decorate my elementary classroom.
