There seems to be a price increase on notebook computers in Korea, when compared to America.

Notebook computers from Apple and Dell seem too expensive to consider.

I'm looking for a notebook to mainly surf the internet, but would like it capable of playing games and editing HD movies from my camera occasionally.

What is a good notebook computer to buy in Korea for ~1,000,000 won?

I can't make any specific recommendations, but if you can read some Korean, danawa.com is a pretty good price comparison/aggregation site. You can sort and filter by specs.

They often show pretty decent prices; for example, the base Macbook Air is 1,060,000 won on their site while from Apple it's 1,250,000.

Is there a good place to go for Apple products around the danawa price? I know Yongsan is good for getting electronic deals, but I don't know if there are a lot of Apple deals to be found there.

Not too sure, but I clicked on some of the stores under 일반 전문몰 and some of them have addresses in Yongsan. Here's one:

If I wanted another machine I'd probably upgrade mine first or, failing that, buy used from another expat.
