You mean Dongtan in Hwaseong?  I guess it depends on your age/interests but I think it's a really great place.  Actually my wife and I really want to move there soon.  It's a new city so everything is really clean and there are a lot of decent restaurants.  I don't know about the nightlife but I haven't seen any clubs.  It's really more of a family oriented area.  It's got the Metopolis which has a really good department store.  I think if you enjoy a quieter area this is a great place but it's a little far from the party areas.  As far as rent goes, I've only looked at the larger apartments and they are a bit more expensive than in Suwon and Hwaseong.  Not sure about the one rooms, though.

I dont think you can afford to live there.  It's a high end community with most working for Samsung.  Your best bet is living In Suwon or Byeonyung nearby if your a teacher.  Its a pretty close commute.

I lived there last year. It's nice and clean and full of young families and kindy hagwons.

But it is expensive. I know a lot of people who teach there are living in Byeongjeom or Osan (my new city) or on the outskirts of the city. Although some are lucky and live in the center.
When I was there I was in a tiny little apartment (inemass) at the edge of the city (the opposite edge of my hagwon). It was nice and new and clean but had very very bad insulation and my windows sweated water all winter long.

But the city is really nice and clean and central park in the center is a nice place to hang out in the summer. There is the fairly new Enter-6 shopping mall in the Metapolis buildings, 2 big CGVs right down the block from each other. Tons of restaurants and a few foreigner friendly bars (though not much nightlife).
It's a bit far from the subway though. They have the Seodongtan station, but it's in the middle of nowhere so everyone goes to Byeongjeom.
They also have 2 Mbuses that go to both Gangnam and Seoul Station.

Is that too much information?

No prob. Good luck with the move, whether you end up in Dongtan or elsewhere. I miss the nicely paved bike paths they had. My bike tires die a little more every day in Osan...
