The Most Beautiful Place in South Korea
« on: May 08, 2012, 11:40:14 AM »
What place do you think is the most beautiful in SKorea?

I think Myeongsasimi in Wando is the most beautiful beach in Korea and Seroaksan is the most beautiful mountain national park. Jirsan is overrated IMO.

Hyeopjae beach on Jeju is my favorite place in the whole of Jeju Do.  Hands down the best beach.  Cheers.

Pretty much anywhere in Gangwon-do.  All I have to do is look out my window.

A dark, poorly lit back alley in Seoul. You remember that one scene with the plastic bag in American Beauty? Picture that but 1000 times better! ;D

Ulleungdo is great if you stay off the tour buses and just wander around. My friends and I walked the coastal road on a really nice rainy day. Gorgeous and most of the time there wasn't another person in sight.

Jirisan. watching the sunrise at Cheonwangbong over the 'Nogodan Sea of Clouds' was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.

Jirisan is by far my favourite mountain. Strenuous like no other and utterly majestic.

I wonder if I can take my motorcycle on a ferry out there... time for some research!  I keep meaning to go see Ulleungdo...

East coast north of Ulsan.  Take the smaller roads all the way up to Sokcho.

Daedunsan outside of Daejeon.

Seopori beach on Deokjeokdo (when there isn't a bunch of passed out foreigners in a sea of empty soju bottles there.)

The middle of an eight hour hike through Chiaksan park without another person - nary even a Korean! - in sight.

Songgye valley from the top of Woraksan.

There are lots of little beautiful places hidden in the mountains if you've got wheels you don't mind risking on some sketchy roads and lots of time.

I can't believe how beautiful the misty mountains are here in Girin-myeon, Gangwon-do.

Not sure about motorcycles, but one of the foreigners on Ulleungdo has a decent-sized motorscooter thing that he drives around on. You just have to watch out for the huge tour buses.

One of the ferries takes cars, so if you're allowed to take a motorcycle there, you can use that to get it over to the island. I THINK it's the Pohang ferry, but don't quote me on that.
