to be very helpful to understand how to get the students to be more active and helps to keep all the pressure you as the teacher. Many teachers ans especially myself thouht that I must speak most of the time.

Thanks for the link! Simple and practical way of introducing new material that I'd slacked off on because it's ESL and not a regular classroom...

I definitely stopped doing that for my 3rd grade middle school. I think I fell to my co-teacher's negativity about them.  :-[ Anyway I guess I will have them read the things I want to say about activities and certain phrases. I will also start telling stories about some of my Korea centered adventures. I think it's been improving their listening. Then I'll ask questions to get them in the habit of listening for the answers to the 5Ws. It's been working for the first and second grades.
