Really confused!

Pheniajp:
Hi,
I have been in Korea for 3 weeks now, specifically in the Hamyang area. Although, I have some teaching experience, my school(s) randomnly let me know minutes before the period begins, that I will be teaching alone. Thus, on of my peers has gratefully told me about this site. However, I am beyond confused and a bit overwhelmed on how to navigate this site...any suggestions?

glb0b:
What grade level are you teaching? Navigating the site depends on your grade level.

It's a bit weird. As far as I know, native teachers should co-teach with a Korean teacher. Anyway, I guess this site will help you a lot. The other teachers here will also help you a lot if you ask.

Chicagohotdog:
First, in order to use any of the materials (like actually be able to download them) you have to make 5 posts on this site, so you're almost there on that front.

Otherwise you can use the search feature at the top or start narrowing things down by looking at the lesson plan sections for your specific grade.  If you are teaching out of a book odd are that there is a section for it on this site with lesson plans already made up that can give you a good jumping off point.

We're all pretty willing to help each other out around here so just keep your head up and don't be afraid to ask questions around here.  Remember, we're all going through it too!

Welcome to the land of last minute changes! Count your blessings you are in a public school. All will be well. If you have teaching experience elsewhere it will only help you. 3 weeks is not long enough to give yourself an accurate judge of the ways things are going to be for you. Hang in there!
