Korean teacher class hours

How many teaching hours do most Korean teachers work? Not including after school classes. Just regular, during-the-day classes. Including those with the NSET.

All the subject teachers teach 18~20 classes a week at my school, except me (22). The homeroom teachers and the assistant gym teacher teach more than 22, maybe 23~25.

Rural high school here.

Around the 20 mark, give or take a few classes and including classes with me.

Of course, as most of them don't attend the classes we are supposed to co-teach, they probably actually teach around 16, give or take a few classes.

Some of them teach after school too. Maybe 1-3 hours depending on the teacher and the timetable. They get over-time for that.

It's not a bad deal really.

At my old school, between 20 and 22 hours, same as me. At my new schools, between 17 and 19 regular hours, because these schools are tiny. Again, same as me.

Elementary Afterschool English center.

My co-teacher teaches 3x40 minute classes a week, plus an ocassional 5 minute stop in the class room for my 1st and 2nd grade phonics classes.

Upon complaint to the school, I was told I am the main teacher so I should do the majority of the work.  So she sits, chatting in our English center office next to my classroom.  Works out well for me as I enjoy having the freedom to plan my own lessons with out any complaint.

But still, I fail to see the need for her to be there, as I already have a secretary who does all the office work.

Same but all the teachers (not just English teachers) teach about 15 classes a week. I have the timetable in front of me and 75% of them fall between 14 and 16 (included) classes.

The English teachers have it best of all because they are 15, 16 and 15 respectively but that includes the classes they "co teach" with me where they normally stay in their office. So basically 10 classes a week.
