gaming laptop models in 1000$ range?

Does anybody know what some good affordable gaming laptops are this year?

I'm not looking to spend more than a 1000$, so Alienwares and other beasts are out.

Something with i5/i7, 500gb-1tb hard drive, 6-8 gb ram and a decent video card.
Korean brands or american, as long as I can buy them in Korea.

just got mine in preparation for going to skorea from xoticpc.com, international shipping might be a bit hefty but they have some really decent builds for around 1k and under

Is a "gaming" laptop really still a thing? Wouldn't you just try to get the best processor and graphics card and the most RAM for your money?

The only gaming laptop I would trust is MSI. I've had way too many HPs fail on me after two years, but the MSI is still chugging away happily. ASUS is also a nice brand.
