Hi All,
I am looking to change the direction my career is heading in, so with that in mind I will have some questions, but looking forward to seeing what you all have to say here.
Feel free to message me. ;D

Hi
Ek is ook van Kaapstad. I've been in Korea just over a month, so all the issues regarding
settling in are still fresh. Hope you decide to come over ,it's great.
Cheers

Hey EvilToast. I'm looking into the feasibility of it all at the moment since I have a wife and child to consider, BUT I am super keen!!
Now to just figure out if I would be able to include the family on the national medical insurance and if I could find suitable accommodation to fit the 3 of us and of course after all of that if I would have something left to save to make it worth my while to quit my job in RSA.
Anyone got any ideas or advice? And what's this I hear that these programmes are going to be done away with in the next few years? Should I even be looking into this at all?
EvilToast:
As far as medical insurance logistics etc. I can't be much help I'm afraid, but medical care is really cheap compared to SA, and very efficient. I really don't think SK will do away with foreign teacher for 'robots' (as the rumour goes), they've been barking up that tree for years. I think most of the schools have pretty high tech equipment, but they know that nothing can replace a native teacher.
Good Luck

I have a wife and kids just left school. I personally think its better to come by yoursef and try it out before bringing family over, as I have done. My wife got herself a job back home in Australasia nad she will visit. From my experience they need native teachers but if you are 50+ and are Sout African they will not give you preference in Seoul -if thats where you want to go but you may get good positins in the country (with better pay) and in places like Busan. The pollution in Seoul is unreal. Your agency should fill you in with the medical side. If you get a job in public school the school pays half your insurance
