Global Peace Village (Icheon English Village) is searching for qualified native English speakers to teach in Korea

The Global Peace Village offers teachers a unique teaching and learning experience. We develop and teach classes designed to demonstrate UNESCO’s core values - in English. The main themes are culture, peace, and ecology. Here in the village your creativity is rewarded. We welcome new ideas and are always working on updating our curriculum. Day to day, teachers are encouraged to create lesson plans, incorporate relevant activities, and even develop brand new classes. Students come and stay for a week at a time so the village has a camp like atmosphere with activities not confined to the classroom. Knowing and working to our individual strengths is a significant goal within our team. The Peace Village is a joint venture between the Korean National Commission for UNESCO and the Icheon City Council.

Our school is rurally located, about 20 minutes drive out of Icheon City. This location has the benefit being easily accessible to Seoul, while allowing a relaxed small-town atmosphere in daily life. The opportunity looks fine to me personally, but in their application it says I need to have official letters from each of my previous employers and I need proof of all of my past volunteering things...

I mean, I could message people who I worked with years back and all... but seriously?  I might be crazy here, though.

Single room and 2.3 million in a small city for someone with 2 years experience and TESOL who needs to contact a bunch of previous employers and volunteer agencies?  Maximum of 5 days vacation in a row?  Why should someone take this job?
C is for cookie, that's good enough for me.

Our english village is not a private academy, but a government-based organization. Official letters regarding your teaching experience, teaching certificates and your diploma will be required because we set your salary based on your teaching experience and educational background. Thanks!
