Kakao Voice Talk
GoCyclones:
Hi,
Wondered if anyone else has been playing with this feature yet?
There is apparently a bug in the English version of Kakao that we install in Korea, so it doesn't work (or they're fooling with us). However, if you change your phone over to Korean language, then uninstall/reinstall Kakao again while under Korean, it will install the version that works. You have to remember to go to settings and enable the voice feature (I believe it is the last choice under the settings menu in Korean). After you do this, you can set your phone back to English. Remember to enable the voice setting before switching back to English, because that menu item seems to disappear once you go English again.
I've been using it today, and it's kinda cool! Wonder if this will be around for long? It can't make the telecoms happy!

kakao are really trying to supplant a lot of the offerings that the phone companies offer!! personally i can't stand using the app because it's slow and unreliable... i haven't tested the voice yet, but i do like the cute ringtone.
GoCyclones:
It can be unreliable with messages. No longer slow with my dual-core Note phone. Overall, it's a great thing, IMHO. I have one of the new 4G phones, and the packages (especially from SK Telecom) are pretty horrid.
SeoulBigChris:
I understood it didn't work at all with a Korean phone - didn't have anything to do with the language setting. However, I was able to get it working here in Korea by making a KKT account on my iPad using my USA cell phone number.
But from what you're saying, it seems they've (partially?) opened KKT-Voice for Korean language users here in Korea. That's cool.
GoCyclones:
They have, but it appears that they are messing with it on the 3G connection so that it doesn't work well at all. If you use a home wifi router, for example, then it works great. Haven't had much luck with it through SK's wifi network, either.
