BELTA:
Finished the CELTA last Friday and learned I've been placed in GANGWON this morning.

Anyone else headed to the Gangwon province this summer/fall?

How is it there? I've done a bit of research online for general apt. sizes, shopping, transportation, etc. and it seems like a very beautiful and less urban place.

Are commutes typically long?

In my county I have a 5 minute walk. One guy has an hour commute. So your mileage may vary.

I have a nice "one room" (plus a small separate kitchen, balcony, and bathroom) that includes all utilities paid.

Others have a small 40 year old apartment above a Chinese restaurant. Again, your mileage may vary.

I have to take a bus to a larger city to get to anywhere outside the province with the exception of Seoul. It is min 1.5 hrs by bus to the next largest city to get to cities outside Gangwon. (again except Seoul) Seoul is ~4hrs by bus with bad traffic. I've done it in under 3 and usually in 3hrs and 20 minutes.

If you are in a larger city than mine you will have no issues. So it will really depend.

Also, if by less Urban you mean it runs from large major cities to small rural towns. Then yea  it is.

It is less humid and cooler has fewer insects and less pollution than almost every other place in Korea.
