Regional boards
« on: July 10, 2012, 01:22:17 AM »
I'm happy to see the new regional boards.

I'm wondering, how was it decided that those would be the regions.  They seem a bit random (Jeonju has its own board??).  Also, will there be more boards added later to encompass all regions?

Each province would have it's own board (include Daejeon with Chungnam, Gwangju with Jeonnam etc., leave Seoul as it's own, maybe split Gyeonggi-do, combine Busan and Ulsan etc).

One other thing, Chungcheongnamdo is spelled incorrectly as Chuncheonnam-do  ;).

I'm looking forward to a Gyeonggi-do board (sometimes those Seoulites forget even about us and we surround them!).

Can we add Mokpo and Suncheon to the Jeollanam-do regional board, please? Those are two big centres down here in our province. The teachers there might like a place to post.

Yea, since the other buk/nam provinces are combined, would Chungbuk be combined with Chungnam (and still need to fix the spelling on Chungcheongnamdo)   :D

I think to be fair, we should have a board for each of the provinces. Here is a list (most are there already):

Gyeonggi-do
Gangwon-do
Chungcheongbuk-do
Jeollabuk-do
Jeollanam-do
Gyeongsambuk-do
Gyeongsamnam-do
Jeju

And then there are the city/state special provinces:
Seoul, Sejong, Busan, Incheon, Daegu, Gwangju, Daejeon, Ulsan

I think it would be fine to split the buk-nam provinces, but I think it's entirely reasonable to combine the cities with their respective provinces.  Especially with the smaller ones like Daejeon, Gwangju, Sejong (it's smaller than most Gyeonggi-do cities).  Otherwise, we'd wind up with 17 boards!

Is there any reason that Jeolla-do is split into north and south, while the other provinces are merged?
Reckon the others have more people if you count the metropolitan cities within, save for Gangwon-do.

Yeah, I might split Seoul from Gyeonggi-do on this line of reasoning as well.
I wish Korea didn't revolve around the big city but alas... :blank:
