Is anyone else using the books called, as usual

'Middle School English?
Grade 1 has a girl student on the front raising her hand, Grade 2 a boy hanging from a tree (by his hands, not his neck of course)? I haven't seen Grade 3 yet.

Both books come as a study book, an activities book and a teachers' cd with activities and lessons (used by the Korean teachers)

I have a new co teacher this year and am hoping that I will be encouraged to work in co-operation with what the 3 grade teachers are doing, rather than devising random lessons merely to keep students amused and co-teachers distanced.

Hey!! I have these books. The Grade 3 book has a picture of two girls listening to music. I was just given my copy last week!!

Down for sharing lesson plans?! I used the same books for Grade 1 and 2 last year and they weren't too bad...the phrases were workable. I haven't spent a great deal of time looking through Grade 3 yet but would be happy to help until you get your book.

These are the textbooks I'm working from. I just received the grade three edition as well. I have most of the lessons already covered from last year. And I'll see about posting some later.

I have to teach grade 3 from this book as well. I'm also responsible for the corresponding activities section (even though most of the instructions are in Korean). I was planning on finding additional material to put with each lesson to make it a little less boring. It would be great if we could share lesson plan ideas!

Same! At least, I assume so as I haven't been told we're changing. I have some lessons for later on in the year on a USB, so I'll upload those soon enough.

Great. I have some lessons from last year too for Grades 1 and 2 and will be very happy to share and add to them.

I have a kind of Scheme of Work started for the books I've already used - just a grid breaking down the chapters and an attempt at identifying the objectives and grammar points of each. I'm getting a new co-teacher this year so I want to sound her out before I go all out on using this structure, but if she's happy for me to go ahead with it, I'll start filling in details and matching up lesson plans to it. I"ll be much more motivated to do it if it is shared than just me in isolation - that always seems like too much effort.

Fantastic! am glad I have found people using the same texts as me. I am very down for sharing ideas and lesson plans based around the texts and there objectives. I will be putting together same ppt games specific to the language used in the texts as well. I will be kind of piece mealing it together as I have not had much time to plan ahead. do you think we should just continue to post to this thread for future sharing? let me know what y'all think.

I'm not sure how else to do that - if there's an easier way to find it back then lets do that. This is a good place to to start anyway.

So glad there's a name for this book now!

I looked in the citations on the back and it looks really unprofessional.

Still, the phrases in the speaking parts are not completely irrelevant.

Hey i'm new to teaching and all this - just had my first lesson and it went really well. It was an introduction lesson. Anyway, I am using these books and I'm a little confused at to how you design a lesson plan when there seems to be a lot of material to teach in one lesson. I think I will split up listening and speaking and have a lesson on each.

Anyone have any lesson plans I can have a look at to see the sort of thing you have to do? Ofcourse I'll be sharing mine when I make them

Hopefully I'll have my first lesson plan up for tomorrow about making Yujin class president. I've been told to do every activity for each lesson - is everyone else doing this?? I have also changed my mind and plan to teach listening and speaking together but over 2 lessons.

ADMIN: Any chance of making this a sticky as I think a fair few of us will be using these books this year and it'll be nice if we can keep everything in one place

Hey guys, my school has been using this book for the last 3 years... teachers don't want me to use any of the lesson plans in the book but if you guys do need help or get stuck with any of the lesson plans... let me know... I can definitely help.

Newbie here using the Same Books . . . .
I have 2 schools 3 days using this book (Ji Hak Sa) and 2 days teaching another book so i have Double Planning. Is that the same for everybody?

Any Ideas i am new to Lesson Planning and Teaching and didnt get the orientation so i could do with all the help i can get !!!

I am going to look at Planning the first Lesson for Monday i have both 2 AND 3

As no-one is sharing, I thought I would be the first and get the ball rolling. This is for grade 2 - lesson 1. My coteacher has told me to do every listening/speaking activity in the textbook so thats why there it is kinda boring.

At my school we will support the book but teach the material in a different way. Here is my take on introductions...this will take a couple of lessons to get through.

Grade 1 Lesson 1: My Special Friend

I think the standard is to if you adapt it, just repost it. And ofcourse feel free to STEAL my material
