My other coteacher really liked the Sailormoon game so I made a bomb game for teaching with her and the 2nd year students.  This is a Grade 2 Lesson 9, 10, 11 Final Review Sailor moon bomb game review.  The boys are in a position where they love to hate it.  Its a bomb game so they're still pretty competitive especially with rock, paper, scissors.  All material are straight from the book also  I don't know why I didn't think about this earlier but I posted most items in my docs.google.com page.  So enjoy, the Sailor moon game is short but I give credit to user Mitsukaikasei making the Sailormoon game template.  You can add, change, subtract, and edit anything you wish.

G2 - L9-11 Exam Review Super Mario Brothers Game

Hi everyone, here is a Super Mario and Luigi game reviewing lessons 9-11. This game is not your typical Mario Bomb game, it is much more animated, with sounds, and is more exciting to play than the normal Mario games. I got this template from a teacher at my elementary school and think it is very good. I just changed the images and the questions to suit my class review. My students are writing exams on December 6th for the whole week, so I am using this next week to review for the test.
I will be making a grade 1 review using this template and hope to upload it by the end of the day or Monday morning.

I hope someone can use this game or the template.
Best regards.

I took cansom's post and modified it a little.  The question boxes now have letters on them to avoid confusion on which one the students picked.  The white dialogue boxes are now transparent which looks a lot better in my opinion.  Also, I tried to streamline the whole game by reducing the amount of clicks that is needed to go through all the fancy animations.  The questions are now only from lessons 10 and 11, and focuses more on grammar rather than memorizing phrases from the book.

This is my modified review game for 2nd Grade lessons 10 and 11.  Credit to cansom and whoever made the original game template.

edit: sorry, the previous file didn't work well with the letters.  I took them out so now the game is working again.

Yeah sorry, I uploaded a version that wasn't working properly on other computers but was fine on mine.  I took off the letters on the boxes so it should be working perfectly now.

This is my lesson for Grade 1 Lesson 12 The Garbage Museum. I broke the lesson into 2 parts and taught part 1 this week. The worksheet worked well for the more advanced classes, but the lower level classes where not interested in. Thanks to Mojussa for the Kung Fu Panda game. The kids loved it. I will use it again next week and just change some of the questions around.

Enders, I really like your powerpoint for this lesson... my school is a bit behind and I still have to do this. I was just wondering what were the 3 videos you used that are supposed to be embedded within the ppt? there is nothing there when i open it..

Which lesson do you want the videos for? There are 2 lesson there for the Garbage Museum.
In the 1st one the videos are just some short animated ones from youtube. There are not that important to the lesson, but I like to try and add some videos just to keep the students interested.
I am not sure why the videos aren't working. They should automatically load up in the presentation.

Here are the links for the videos.

In the 2nd ppt there are 2 videos by Jack Johnson with the song "The three R's". There videos are there to download, but here are the links on youtube as well:

1st Grade Lesson 12

Presentation prezi:
low level: http://prezi.com/iy78mmzfp9_q/112b-intermediate/
high level: http://prezi.com/5a9qcj6mp0fe/112b/

Includes listening exercise script and coin flick game - I laminated the boards and gave one to each group of 4 students. One student flicks the coin and the others at the table should say "You shouldn't XXXXXXX" - the kid who flicked the coin should then reply "That's a good point! I should/We should XXXXXXX" as shown in the presentation.

These last few posts will be my last for I'm concluding my contract this week in December.  It was great that many of you posted items here and I was glad to contribute what I could.  Anyway I thank Enders and Dapto who enjoyed the Kungfu Panda again it was all my friend Lynda En's work.
This will be a Grade 1 Lesson 9(reading part), 10, 11, 12 Spongebob final review game.  Uploaded are both 07.pptx and 03.ppt.  This game was made by sprite06 or Kyle and his website could be found on the hidden PPT slide.  You may want to remove slide 29 image and post your own. Unless you like my photo in your review game.  Feel free to add, subtract, edit and make any changes you want.  All material are straight from the book .

Good luck with your future endeavours, your work was amazing and greatly appreciated from us newbies in Korea!

You guys ready for the new semester? :P

Personally, I am thinking of quickly doing the speaking part of the book, and devoting the rest of the class to speaking activities unrelated to the text.....

I have found the powerpoint + game format to be too teacher centered.....would like to have the kids talking the majority of the class.

I found what seems to be a good speaking book here...

Gomdori that sounds great, I wish I could get away with that in my school! They're fairly strict about sticking to the book though. Good luck with it!

I definitely agree with you about the PPT+Game format.  If I feel tired after teaching a class, it's probably because I've talked too much.  Thanks for posting the textbook files. it's extremely helpful and there's actually a lot of useful templates to utilize.

I totally agree with you Gomdori, I aim to make my classes more student-centered this year, thanks for the files. Hopefully we can share more ideas about how to do this on here!

I have the first 17 lessons all ready to go for Grade 1 - it's been a long winter and I've been able to build on what worked last year.  I'll be posting all my lessons somewhere, soon.

They will mainly be ppt / games format because it works with my classes of 25+ boys.  A quick peek at recent test scores showed that my classes are roughly divided 50/50 with kids scoring in the 20s and the rest scoring in the 90s.  Student talking (to each other) just doesn't work with that kind of ability range, at least not without a lot of manipulation and KT co-operation.   Best I can do it is make the games useful and student focused.

The TTM books are great though - I used them last year for my before and after school classes. I have adapted a few of the activities for whole class lessons, but sadly too much is too resource intense or student ability dependent to work in my classes.

Hero! I had 5 weeks of camps and didn't get around to planning for grades 1 and 2 in that time, so I'm only starting that now. Still have 2 and a half weeks though so enough to get a fair few done.

As promised, these are my lessons for this term - starting with Grade 1.  The other Grades have been delayed due to being asked to do other tasks but I hope to get them in shape before long.

Most lessons follow the same formula: go through the Speaking activity of the text book followed by practice and a game for consolidation.  Each chapter lasts an average of 2 lessons with a revision class after 3 chapters.  Where possible I've brought in the vocabulary from the list on the first page of each chapter in the green Activity book.

It's not set in stone, some are more freestyle and the timing and delivery will have to accommodate all the peculiarities of the term's events as always.

The lesson plan for each lesson explains briefly how it all runs though most will be self explanatory.

Lesson 3 is in 2 (linked) parts just because it was easier to do so.
