My school is public, but Christian (I don't know how that works), and there are two church services each week.  One is just for the teachers and the other is for the entire school.  My first semester, I went to both every week even though I'm not religious at all, not to mention I hardly understand a word of it.  Eventually, I stopped going... but I'm pretty sure the other teachers notice I'm not there, especially at the teachers' service.  They told me at first that I "really should go" to the services and that teachers that don't go are kind of seen as outsiders.  I really feel like it's a total waste of time for me!  I definitely didn't sign up for this job thinking that two church services a week were included in the contract (which they weren't, of course).

It's really a minor complaint of mine, not something I get too worked up about or anything, but it still kind of annoys me.  just saying.
