Can they make me take vacation?

I work for SMOE. My school is going on a camping trip for three days in April. My school doesn't want me to go nor does it seem they want me to stay and desk warm. I told my co-teacher that I have specific things later in the year that I want to use my vacation on.

Can they make me use my vacation days or does it have to be with mutual consent?

Usually you can't take vacation during the semester. Just tell them that you want to come to school like you did and tell them you have already bought your tickets for your vacation later and can't change. Vacations are usually arranged by mutual consent, but hey, different courses for different horses.  Good luck and be firm.
