Hey Jimmy.  Looks like we use the same book!  Are you making these worksheets?  I start Unit 8 on Monday.  Any chance you have the Grade 2 and Grade 1 Unit 8 worksheets?  I'd really appreciate it.

The middle schools are all using different books. What is the name of yours? Can you put it in the posting title?

This is an activity I got off the internet somewhere, and then the rest of the hand out I made. Making my own madlibs has worked really well as a tool in the classroom to make dialogs.

I play hot potato with an envelope or a bag full of questions. When the music stops, the person with the envelope has to pick a question and answer it.

Communication task!

My kids take FOREVER to cut out the cards... like 20 minutes!! So here's a sheet with a few copies of the cut out cards.
This was enough for my classes and I can reuse them next year or use them with basic sentences for elementary / review
games etc... I color copied it (it's just one sheet!) laminated & cut it up.  Muuuuch easier than waiting for them to practice
using scissors  :P


EDIT:  Also added my ppt.. Just textbook review and comm task explained, then hot potato explained (thanks APTOAJ!!)

Here is my ppt.
We did past last lesson.
Go over past.
Move into Future.
Do the hand out from another poster above - fill in the blanks.
Then maybe a pass the bag with sentences from hand out above.

Donor444: I am using your telephone game in a similar way.  Just wondering if your directions catch on easily?  My students had to do a lot of listening to fully understand how to go about the phone conversation.  Any tips for making it easier to explain?
